Overview of the role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Business Intelligence Analyst. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for data analysis, a keen understanding of business operations KPI, the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, and demonstrate a conversational approach to relating complex data to diverse audiences. Strong presentation and communication skills are required for this position. Note that this is a hybrid opportunity in Austin, Texas reporting into our Manager of Business Intelligence.
Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect, organize, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external sources.
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business decision-making, customer initiatives, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Forecasting and Trend Analysis:
  • Utilize forecast monitoring KPI to evaluate, monitor, and improve Upshop's forecast performance.
  • Relate the output of a complex forecasting engine to diverse audiences.
• Business Strategy Support:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and develop analytics solutions to support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations based on data insights to drive business growth, optimize processes, and improve operational efficiency.
• Data Visualization and Communication:
  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner through data visualization tools, presentations, and written reports.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and provide actionable recommendations for decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
• 5 years experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field
• Demonstrated understanding of statistical methods, forecasting techniques, and error analysis associated with forecasting
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a SaaS company
• Proficiency in DOMO strongly preferred
