University of Pittsburgh Physicians are hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to help support Pediatric Hospital Medicine at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. 

Hours:

80 hours in a 2 week pay period. The majority of shifts are daylight hours with some limited evening shifts. Providers will work 3-4 consecutive shifts per week, tallying 15 shifts per 4-week block. Providers will work one weekend per 4-week block, allowing for up to a 6-day stretch between clinical stretches.

The Paul C. Gaffney Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is one of the longest-standing PHM divisions in the country, with its origins in inpatient care dating back to the 1970s. It currently has 31 faculty members who manage greater than 9000 discharges and 22,000 patient days per year. The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and a member of the care delivery team. They are responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Staff APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.
