UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute at Memorial Hospital in York iscurrently looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to their team. The LPNprovides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Heart and Vascular experience is helpful, but not a requirement of the position. In this position, you will join a great team environment and work in a beautiful, brand-new office with lots of natural sunlight and positive energy. Hours: Core business hours are 8am-4:30pm - willingness to do 7:30a-4pm shift or 8:30a-5pm shift as needed. NO WEEKENDS, NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS!

Responsibilities:

• Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs & weight, obtain past medical history and other demographics.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Complete EKG's as ordered.
• Assist with phone calls, triage/assess as needed.
• Check out patients- Schedule Cardiac/Vascular testing, procedures, and surgeries. 
• Place cardiac monitors as needed. 
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
• Work clinical encounters (in basket messages) in Epic.
• Draw blood.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
