Maintenance Technician II, III
UPM Pharmaceuticals is an independent, highly experienced, and award-winning contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) located in Bristol, Tennessee. Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II and III must be highly motivated, able to work safely in accordance with OSHA standards, effective as both an independent self-starter and cooperative with others. This work must be planned and executed to meet crucial deadlines, efficiently serving our clients and build the success of UPM. This is a rotating, 7-day, on-call position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Familiarity with a GMP environment.
2. Maintain air compressors, dryers, and related equipment
3. Experience with installation of new and used equipment
4. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) as scheduled.
5. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failure of production machines.
6. Working knowledge of engineering drawings, electrical schematics, engineering flow diagrams and basic shop math.
7. Trained in operation of forklifts, skyjacks, hand and power tools and basic machine shop skills
8. Boiler Attendant:
· Boiler attendant shall report to the boiler room and perform beginning of shift routine daily testing and maintenance requirements including boiler water column test.
· Boiler attendant shall contact the remote station to verify proper operation of the communication system (phone) and the annunciation system for each boiler.
· Boiler attendant or Remote Operator shall return to the boiler room every 4 hours to verify normal operation and log visit.
· Boiler attendants may not leave the premises during the shift unless properly relieved of duties.
Education/Experience:
Maintenance Technician II:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two-year certificate from a technical college or vocational school preferred. Experience in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.
Maintenance Technician III:
Two-year certificate from a technical college or vocational school preferred or high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience with a strong electrical background in troubleshooting motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), CompactLogix controllers, and a working knowledge of engineering drawings, electrical schematic, and engineering flow diagrams. Experience in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.
