Additional Physical Demands
Position may become a permanent position at a later date depending on funding and programmatic need. Must have or obtain a valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to research sites in Central Illinois for sampling campaigns. Ability to work long days in the field under hot and humid conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short durations.Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Agricultural Engineering, Integrative Biology, Crop Sciences or related field. Alternate degrees will be considered/accepted depending on nature and depth of experience as it relates to this position. Field work experience, including soil and plant sampling; Physiological analysis of plants, including photosynthesis measurements; Familiarity with environmental sensors. Experience with measuring crop performance and working as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. in Agricultural Engineering, Integrative Biology, Crop Sciences or related field. Experience with infrared gas analyzers; experience taking soil cores and measuring soil moisture. Ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after closing date. Salary range is $45,000 to $55,000, commensurate with experience. The University of Illinois also has an outstanding benefits package.
