Speech Language Pathologist 3 (full-time)
HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER - REHAB THERAPIES
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Skills to evaluate, plan comprehensive treatment programs, assess and provide discharge plans to meet the needs of the patients.
Understanding of Harborview Medical Centers policies and state and federal regulations and guidelines to allow for appropriate provision of services and billing.
Providing clinical oversight to speech team
Ability to instruct other staff in evaluation and treatment of the patient.
Ability to perform peer reviews in respectful, positive manner.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and openly to others.
Program development.
Developing /implementing quality improvement programs.
Team leadership.
Delegation of responsibilities to other SLPs.
Student supervision.
Collaboration with nursing and medical leadership.
Active participation in leadership meetings
Coordinates and leads monthly meetings for workgroup and discipline
Necessary Physical Attributes Include:
Occasionally requires transfer of patients needing assistance from bed to wheelchair and back to bed and assist with safe ambulation in hallways.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires ability to assist in transporting patients to various locations on the HMC campus for evaluations, treatments or discharge.
Requires hand dexterity for manual treatment techniques and to operate equipment.
May be required to do direct lifting up to 40 lbs.
Ability to sit at computer terminal.
DESIRED:
- At least five years of experience working with individuals with brain injury.
REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed by the State of Washington as a Speech Language Pathologist,
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association,
A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association,
Five years of experience as a speech-language pathologist.
OR equivalent education and/or experience
