We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Project Coordinator to join our team and contribute to the development and execution of Human Resources projects and initiatives, especially focused around internal and external communication.
Communication Strategy Development:
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Initiatives Leader to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for the Human Resources department.
  • Craft clear and effective messages that align with organizational goals and values using direct email sends, website content, and all relevant social media platforms.
Project Communication:
  • Work closely with project teams within Human Resources to develop communication plans for various initiatives, ensuring consistent and timely messaging.
  • Create and publish engaging content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, announcements, and presentations.
Human Resource Process Alignment:
  • Apply expertise in human resource disciplines, including recruitment and retention, compensation practices, and employment best practices to enhance communication strategies.
  • Translate complex HR concepts into easily understandable messages for diverse audiences.
  • Develop templates for various HR processes, including hiring proposals, reorganization business plans, and New Employee Onboarding.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with HR leaders, managers, and employees to gather information and ensure accurate representation in communications.
  • Cultivate and maintain sustained alignment and cooperation with controllers of all relevant UVM communications platforms for internal and external messaging (Inside UVM, flagship social, etc.). Assist those controllers with dissemination of HR content through their channels as needed.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
  • Leverage DEI experience and coordinate with university’s DEI office on strategies to infuse inclusive language and perspectives into all communication materials.
  • Support DEI initiatives and contribute to the creation of a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience with utilizing LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms to publish positive messages meant to unite people.
  • Experience in Human Resources with a focus on communication in a higher education environment, a union environment, or complex organization.
  • Knowledge of human resource disciplines, federal and state employment laws, recruitment and retention strategies, compensation practices, and performance management.
  • Experience developing and executing communication strategies for complex projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated creativity in developing engaging and effective communication materials.
