University of Utah is Hiring a Remote Director of Professional Education

Director of Professional Education
Job Summary
Develops and implements policies, programs, and financial objectives for Professional Education in relation to education and student services functions. Under minimal supervision directs operations and implements the strategic plan for staffing, learner services, and the financial functions of Professional Education. Participates in preparing department budgets and in setting department goals. Ensures continuity and quality customer service between university departments and community.
Professional Education is part of University Connected Learning at the University of Utah. Professional Education offers a variety of classes and programs to help working professionals upskill, reskill, and transition in their careers. Professional Education offers over 60 classes and over 15 professional credentials in various modalities.
Responsibilities
  • Oversees department staff management including recruitment, performance evaluations and retention of staff.
  • Manages departments budget, estimates budgetary requirements for special projects
  • Implements and administers new and existing department programs and services to internal and external customers. Evaluates program effectiveness.
  • Establishes internal objectives and implements procedures to meet department goals. Assists in setting department short and long-term goals.
  • Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships with the community and other program partners.
  • Ensures department budgetary, fiscal, and enrollment health and alignment with university goals.
  • Participates in the development and interpretation of department policies to ensure compliance with the Universitys policies and regulatory requirements. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and partnership requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Masters degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
