SalarySalary Range: Up to $52,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours per WeekExempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential FunctionsFunction: To plan and assist in the coordination of the business management, administrative and staff services of a college or large and complex department/area.
Scope: Responsible for the administration of fiscal and budgetary affairs, personnel matters, and other administrative activities essential to the operation of the college or department requiring independent decision making skills.
Typical:
- Coordinates all administrative operations of the department.
- Manages all fiscal activities of the department; develops budgets, posts and reconciles accounts, prepares reports and cost analyses, and monitors expenditures. Maintains a sound financial state for the department.
- Manages the financial activities for scholarship funds, grant programs and research programs.
- Coordinates and supervises administrative support staff. Determines schedules and assignments and training and development needs.
- Maintains personnel records for faculty and staff.
- Acts as a liaison with other University departments regarding grants, research, budgets, registration and other administrative issues.
- Maintains Department Chair's calendar
- Processes all forms related to undergraduate students (Independent Study, Change of Grade, Add, Audit, etc).
- Handles book orders and request of desk copies
- Maintains files with syllabi
- Updates and maintains department directory with office hours (every semester)
- Handles front desk customer service
- Assists with new faculty hiring processes
- Assists with scholarship processes
- Academic Program Review coordination
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Periodic:
- Coordinates and completes special projects as needed.
- Performs annual evaluations of assigned administrative staff.
Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED and twelve years of increasingly responsible experience in administration or business management with at least two years of supervisory experience.
A bachelor's degree or higher may substitute for seven years of experience- Tact, diplomacy and judgment necessary in dealing with others.
- Demonstrated independent decision making and problem solving ability.
- Personal computer and standard office equipment.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Similar experience in higher education.
- Thorough knowledge of University administrative structure, policies and procedures.
