Salary
Salary Range: $37,000 - $44,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
This is a Grant-Funded position, which maybe extended or shortened based upon availability of grant funds and/or work.
Hours per Week
Non-Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Function:
To coordinate in the supervision and administration of the Democratizing Racial Justice events and handle administrative decisions and logistics.
Scope:
Responsible for the supervision of clerical staff and administrative planning of internal activities, programs and special projects. Makes administrative decisions requiring a thorough knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures.
Typical:
  • Use initiative and independent judgment to relieve one or more administrators of administrative matters and decisions. Assist administrators in establishing and attaining grant goals and objectives.
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates administrative duties. Supervises and trains clerical staff. Establish organizational policies, work rules and operating procedures.
  • Assist in preparing grant budgets by gathering and compiling information and making recommendations. Maintains and monitors budgets and fiscal reports.
  • Collects data from various sources and analyzes for accuracy, completeness and relevance. Prepare complex, statistical, technical, financial and confidential reports, charts and graphs.
  • Edit speeches, memoranda, reports and proposed publications.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments, partnerships, and agencies regarding inventory control, building services, equipment maintenance and repair, purchasing, safety and other administrative matters related to project events.
  • Utilize Zoom, Canva, Social Media.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Periodic:
  • Disseminate important policy and procedure information to faculty and staff.
  • Perform annual evaluations of assigned clerical staff.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of increasingly responsible administrative, clerical or office experience.
  • At the department's discretion, a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years of experience.
  • Knowledge of current methods and systems of bookkeeping, filing and purchasing.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in everyday work situations while utilizing independent judgment.
  • Personal computer and standard office equipment.
  • Criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in humanities, ethnic studies, international relations, women's studies or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of university organizational structure, policies, rules and procedures.
  • Similar experience with three or more years in higher education.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
Working Conditions
  • Usual office conditions, with hybrid work modality, attendance at DRJ events.
  • Occasional local travel may be required for DRJ events.
This position will be primarily located on the UTSA Downtown Campus.
Hybrid-Regularly: This position will require working both remotely and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
