University of Tennessee Medical Center is Hiring an ECMO Specialist Near Knoxville, TN

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the ECMO Coordinator and the ECMO leadership team, the ECMO Specialist is responsible for all aspects of monitoring and troubleshooting the ECMO circuit and related equipment during the treatment period. The ECMO Specialist is also responsible for collaborating with bedside nurses, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care for the complex ECMO patient. The ECMO Specialist is part of an interdisciplinary team that works in the critical care environment caring for patients that require constant monitoring and whose clinical conditions are considered critical. The ECMO specialist primary role and responsibility is the care of the ECMO device(s) along with active participation in direct care of the patients. ECMO specialists will provide supplemental staffing in their discipline as needed. Call may be required.

Position Qualification:

Associates Nursing - Required

Bachelors of Nursing Preferred
  • RN with an associate degree will be required to obtain BSN within 3 years.

Associate degree - Respiratory Care, Required

1-2 years Experience Healthcare/Medical - Critical Care Medicine Required

1-2 years Experience ECMO Specialist Preferred
