Job Description Summary
We are seeking a motivated Research Specialist to play an integral role in our continuing translational cancer research projects.
Job Description
The candidate will support our laboratory pre-clinical experiments, including but not limited to animal husbandry, genotyping, dosing, monitoring tumor growth, T cell immunotherapy studies and non-invasive whole animal imaging under the guidance of the PI and senior members of the laboratory. The candidate may also help with other experiments, including primary cell isolation and tissue culture, QPCR, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy. They will also be encouraged to actively engage in lab meetings, project discussions, journal clubs and seminars, to further their scientific education and development.
Qualifications
Research Specialist B; Bachelor's Degree in the biomedical sciences with 1-2 years laboratory research experience or combined education and work experience. Research experience with a background in immunology, cancer biology and/or animal work is highly desirable.
Research Specialist C; Bachelor's or Masters Degree in the biomedical sciences with 3-5 years laboratory research experience or combined education and work experience. Research experience with a background in immunology, cancer biology and/or animal work is highly desirable.
Applicants with a strong background in mouse husbandry and murine tumor models are encouraged to apply. The candidate should be detail oriented and skilled at prioritizing tasks and working efficiently with sound scientific reasoning. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, statistics and graphics packages and database/literature software is highly desirable. The individual must be proactive in daily tasks/duties and equipped with strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and competent to work independently as needed.
Position is contingent upon funding.
