Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNCW is part of a network of national lifelong learning institutes partially funded by endowments through the Bernard Osher Foundation. OLLI focuses on engagement with southeastern NC through innovative educational and experiential lifelong learning programs for persons ages 50 . OLLI at UNCW currently serves a thriving community of >1700 older adults, through non-credit academic, experiential, active and social lifelong learning programs.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position
This position plays a pivotal role in multiple critical areas, primarily program assistance, volunteer coordination, and administrative and technical support. The Program Assistant will be an essential entry-level team member, contributing to the success and growth of our institution.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
- Master’s degree or higher
- 1 years experience working in customer service with older adults
- 1 years experience in event planning or program execution
- 1-3 years of communication, writing, and editing experience
