The College of Pharmacy is seeking a self-motivated term Pharmacy Project Assistant/Technician to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have proven abilities to learn and adapt to a dynamic work environment between two groups. The Pharmacy Project Assistant/Technician will be an integral team member who will divide their time assisting faculty and the Office of Curricular Affairs with various pharmacy skills lab and instructional support administrative tasks and assist the pharmacy consultant group with project specific tasks which include but not limited to pharmacy claim reviews, pharmacy inventory reconciliation, and 340B drug price tracking. Incumbent must also be able to multitask and keep track of multiple ongoing tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist faculty with set up of simulation activities in pharmacy skills lab courses
  • Assist faculty with pharmacy skills lab/classroom supply and inventory management
  • Assist Office of Curricular Affairs (OCA) with various instructional administrative and support tasks, including but not limited to skills lab courses
  • Perform pharmacy claim reviews related to our clients’ 340B program
  • Maintaining and reporting drug inventory status for our various clients
  • Assist with drug room inspection reports
  • Assist with policy and procedure preparation and dissemination for our clients
  • Assist with pharmacy and therapeutics meeting preparation
  • Take minutes at various client meetings, corresponding both verbally and in writing with our clients
  • Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality for standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Telecommuting options may be discussed after probationary period

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification/Licensure: National certification as Pharmacy Technician; Licensed with the NM Board of Pharmacy within the first six months of hire.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with ZOOM, and some Learning Management System (LMS), Moodle or Canvas preferred.
  • Strong computerized spreadsheeting and data management skills.
  • Organization and attention to detail; must be able to track details at a granular level.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate with faculty, staff, students, and clients at various levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
