University of New Mexico is Hiring an IT Project Mgr 3 Near Albuquerque, NM

IT Project Mgr 3

Requisition IDreq26422
Working TitleIT Project Mgr 3
Position Grade14
Position Summary

Graduate Medical Education (GME) is searching for a motivated individual to implement a new billing system essential to managing over $50 million dollars of billing to our partner hospital systems. GME hires, credentials, and manages resident physicians participating in the final stages of medical education. This includes: internship, residency, sub-specialty and fellowship programs, leading to state licensure and board certification. GME provides the required data to all stakeholders that pay UNM for resident costs. These stakeholders include UNMH, ABQ Veteran’s Hospital, Lovelace, Presbyterian Medical Center and others.

The IT Project Manager will plan, establish, and manage this project and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned project. Estimated 18-24 months implementation time-frame with set up, customization, and implementation. This position is a temporary position for a length of 2 years.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • The Project Manager (PM) will research and comprehend the CMS IRIS billing requirements.
  • Work with New Innovations (NI), training on the established IRIS Billing Module.
  • After gaining the required knowledge the PM will work with 74 individual training programs to establish rotation schedules including all variations. This will include building new rotation types into NI and all possible duty types. This is estimated to take about six months.
  • Once schedules, rotations and duty types are built, the PM will need to build out the NI IRIS billing module for each GME Training Program. This will include working testing with each of the stake holders GME works with to assure the billing reports generated are accurate.
  • After assuring the billing module is accurate, the PM will then need to train GME staff and individual program staff on how to enter schedules so reports can be generated for CMS IRIS billing. There are 100 users that will need to be trained on the new systems. This is estimated to take ~1.5 years for full implementation.
  • The PM will create standards of practice (SOPs) and training/FAQ aids for all future users of the NI billing module. This will assure process and integrity of the billing system.
