The Department of Neurology is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to work within the General Neurology Division.
In this position, the CRNP will function with significant practice autonomy within the Division and will have access to trained neurology specialists for help with patient care decisions. The CRNP will providing independent care in their practice with 7 half-day sessions of patient care per week. The CRNP should have experience with EPIC electronic medical record software. The CRNP will participate in bi-weekly patient care and administrative meetings. There is the possibility of travel to national meetings and conferences.
SCOPE OF ROLE
Accomplishes responsibilities by applying specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts of a professional discipline normally acquired through advanced education or specialized training. Resolves issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. Contributes to development and evaluation of goals and objectives. Creates solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. May supervise, mentor, or coordinate work of others (positions that supervise are responsible for service delivery, quality assurance, and employee performance). May independently manage or administer programs, processes, projects, or resources.
Applies advanced, expert level knowledge, concepts, principles, and skills. Substantial latitude in decision making. Sets goals and objectives to align with defined strategy. Informs supervisor of progress. Works on ambiguous matters generally without precedent or structure and independently develops standardization and protocol. Makes departures from traditional approaches to develop novel solutions. Influences strategy, program, policy development, and best practices. Acts as expert resource to others.
Department Essential Functions:
Independently practices ambulatory or acute care as primary or secondary provider in clinical practice settings.
Assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute episodic and chronic neurology disorders and provides diagnostic and therapeutic services. Exercises autonomy in medical decision making.
Orders, performs, supervises, and interprets biologic laboratory and diagnostic tests, therapeutic, and corrective measures within the practice of area of specialization as certified. In accordance with state guidelines, may prescribe pharmacological agents.
