The essential job functions of this position require you to: communicate and work cooperatively with staff, faculty and applicants from diverse backgrounds; abide by University guidelines; maintain confidentiality; prioritize and manage work effectively; provide exceptional customer service; complete work with interruptions; ensure work is detailed, accurate and completed in a timely manner; perform work in a sedentary position, utilizing computer, keyboard, mouse and telephone the majority of the day; and work successfully in a team as well as independently.
Shift
Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (37.5 hours/week).
Job Summary
This position is located in HR Employment’s Pre-Employment Screening office with primary functions that include, but not limited to: coordinating Pre-employment Drug Screens (PDS) and Pre-employment National Background Checks (PNBC) for prospective new hires and volunteers; accurately tracking all communications regarding PDS and PNBC; entering data into appropriate systems to process PDS and PNBC; completing I-9 forms for new hires; contacting University hiring officials to ensure the University is compliant with all HR policies and practices regarding the pre-employment process; communicating with background check vendor when clarification is required; and scheduling appointments to ensure compliance with UK HealthCare protocol.
Another major responsibility of this position is to provide excellent customer service to applicants, prospective new hires, and hiring managers by answering general HR questions as well as providing detailed information regarding the University’s pre-employment screening requirements via phone, email and face-to-face interactions.
