Description:

The Clinic Nurse will work for the Division of Surgical Oncology; this position will assist in patient care and related duties for the entire division including our sections of Breast, Hepato-pancreato-biliary, and skin/soft tissue disease.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop, coordinate and collaborate with other staff and faculty in patient care assessments and development of care plans

• Communicate and collaborate with other team members to assess and address patient care problems

• Communicate and collaborate with other members of our multidisciplinary cancer care team, including medical oncology, radiology, social work, palliative care among others

• Consult with and implements orders from physician and perform prompt and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record

• Educate and prepare patients for surgery and ensure all pre-operative workup is completed prior to surgery

• Collaborate with other staff and faculty to identify, promote and provide positive learning experiences for staff and students

• Perform other position related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience working with cancer and/or surgical patients.
• Case management and care coordination experience
• Bilingual - Spanish
