Minimum starting salary: $19.52 per hour/7.5 hour workday

Summary:
Under the direction of the Associate Director, Wrongful Conviction Awareness and Avoidance and in collaboration with IIP staff, this position will coordinate statewide implementation and ongoing delivery of the Wrongful Conviction Awareness and Avoidance training program for police recruits and cadets. The Office Administrator will interact with training centers, schedule travel for all training participants, and coordinate travel reimbursements. The position also works with the Survey Research Center to facilitate surveys of the WCAA trainings.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design, implementation, and coordination of office procedures, recordkeeping systems, and operating guidelines to support the WCAA Training Program administrative functions.
  • Coordinate and expedite logistical arrangements, including schedule and travel for all WCAA training sessions and meetings at all police academy training sites, for the WCAA Associate Director, IIP staff, impacted individuals and other presenters, and for stakeholder meetings and other WCAA-related events.
  • Oversee and submit, within the University of Illinois Springfield system, all expense reimbursements for Training Program participants and associated individuals conducting business on behalf of the program; and ensure all reimbursements are delivered.
  • Compose program correspondence, reports, and other documents in support of the WCAA program; receive and respond to inquiries regarding the program.
  • Work in collaboration with IIP staff to ensure seamless integration of the WCAA program into IIP program operations.
  • Attend and document WCAA-related meetings at the direction of the WCAA Associate Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one of the following from the categories below:

A. Four (4) years (48 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series.

B. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the fourth level of this series.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Prior experience or education in office management
2. Technologically proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google applications to fulfill administrative tasks

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships, and work effectively with culturally, economically, and racially diverse stakeholders at all levels or an organization
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously
