Summary:
The People of Color Enrichment Coordinator which is housed within the Diversity Center, in the Division of Student Affairs is responsible for enriching the lives of current and incoming students of color thus improving the overall educational attainment process. The coordinator develops and administers strategic campus recruitment, retention, and support services to meet the needs of students from historically underrepresented and marginalized groups.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Diversity and Inclusion to design and continue the Men of Color Initiative (MOCI) and Women of Color Initiative (WOCI) programming in the areas of academics, leadership engagement, career planning, kinship etc.
  • Participate in the development, management and implementation of multicultural education that support and foster inclusion on topics of race, ethnicity and gender for male, female, and non-binary identifying populations.
  • Establish and maintain direct contact with educational partners such K-12 partners, peer institutions, and counselors, teachers and administrators to promote both the MOCI and WOCI.
  • Assist in providing a safe, inclusive and a nurturing environment for male, female, and non-binary identifying students.
  • Oversee and help develop the promotional and educational materials, training manuals, and or brochure for the initiatives
  • Maintain current information and expertise regarding trends and developments in Student Affairs and specifically regarding services to male, female and non-binary identifying students.

Minimum Qualifications:
A total of one (1) year (12 months) work experience in both Men of Color and Women of Color Programing, supporting students in underrepresented populations, or diversity programming.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate sensitivity to students, faculty, and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds.
