Minimum starting salary: $20.00 per hour

Summary:
Provides program and administrative support to the Accounting, Economics and Finance Department. Assists faculty, students, and staff of the department in various support tasks and services.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as initial point of contact and resource for current and prospective students of the program; receiving and handling all 15program inquiries (i.e. campus visits, walk-ins, emails, letters, phone calls)
  • Assists in the processing of admission applications
  • Provides liaison/referral services for students to other campus offices (i.e. Admissions, Records and Registration, GPSI/ GA, International Student Services, Financial Assistance, IPL, etc.
  • Assists the Dept. Chair in the preparation of schedules and course assignments.
  • Assists the program advisor in basic student advising and guidance on admission, registration, graduation and program requirements.
  • Handles the program’s official email account, website and other social media accounts
  • Maintains department/program records, files and reports
  • Schedules Department meetings; prepares minutes, agenda and program materials needed in the meetings
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new faculty and staff on the various UIS processes, systems, resources and technology
  • Provides support to program faculty and staff, as needed, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services to students

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good Communication Skills (Written and Verbal) - Required
Good Organizational Skills - Preferred
Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Required

Travel Requirements:
5% Might be asked to attend special events such as Career Fairs or other student recruitment activities
