Duties and Responsibilities

*Serves as a communications and marketing specialist for the Office of Admissions, providing tactical execution of the admissions communications strategies.

Communications and Marketing

*Builds and executes communication and marketing tactics for undergraduate and graduate programs. Constituents for these strategies includes, but is not limited to: prospective students, applicants, parents/family members, admitted students, deposited/matriculated students, and school/college counselors.

*Assists with disseminating the Admissions communication calendar to prospective, admitted, and deposited undergraduate and graduate students.

*Collaborates with the Admissions Senior Associate Director on communication and marketing content for Admission's electronic and print collateral.

*Assists with monitoring and updating Admission's website content.

*Assists with editing key print and online high-visibility correspondence to prospective students and families.

Customer Relations Management (CRM)

*Supports the development and testing of the Admission CRM as it pertains to executing the targeted communication strategies and messages for students engaging in the admission process for undergraduate and graduate programs.

Provides recommendations regarding CRM development across the enrollment cycle of students.

Application Processing and Preliminary Review

*Prepares application for the review and selection process.

*Conducts a preliminary review of student application information and identifies key data points that facilitates a streamlined application review and selection process.

*Sorts and filters applications into appropriate places in the admissions review workflow to ensure an efficient selection process.

*Troubleshoots as needed with missing or misaligned student data on the application.

*Communicates with various campus offices on application processing.

Admissions Operations

*Supports and executes admissions operations tactics for undergraduate programs. Admissions operations includes, but is not exclusively limited to: application document intake and processing; mailroom functions; CRM maintenance; SIS maintenance; application payment processes and related fiscal responsibilities; and compliance with admissions policies and procedures related to Admissions Operations functions.

*Utilizes application reports to resolve processing errors and suggest application processing pressure points to address.

*Investigates and resolves data output errors that are the result of the electronic load process.

Assists with admissions-related recruitment events that may occur outside of business hours.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in art, science, social science, business administration, education, counseling or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for N/A; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of admissions, admission of undergraduates, and/or student services demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.

3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with admissions, admission of undergraduates and/or student services.

4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the admissions, admission of undergraduates and/or student services.

5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

8. Some understanding of the content of undergraduate education at a college or university.

9. Ability to work outside normally scheduled work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Considerable knowledge of the student information system utilized by the UHM.

2. Considerable knowledge of the document imaging system utilized by the UHM.

3. Functional knowledge of a customer relationship manager (CRM) system, e-mail broker, and online viewer.

4. Considerable knowledge of UHM undergraduate admissions polices and procedures
