Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately August 2024 pending position clearance and availability of funding. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in Marketing and related subjects as assigned.
  2. Sustain scholarly activity appropriate to maintain AACSB scholarly academic status and meet CoBE promotion standards.
  3. Publish in business-related areas.
  4. Mentor and advise CoBE students.
  5. Engage in service related to CoBE, University of Hawaii at Hilo, and community stakeholders.
  6. Maintain a minimum of five office hours per week.
  7. Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  8. Work under the supervision of the college Director or designate.
  9. Possible evening, weekend, distance learning, and off-campus assignments.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Appointees must have a PhD or equivalent, from a regionally accredited institution in Marketing or closely related areas such as Advertising, Public Relations, or Sales.
  2. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of research appropriate for maintaining AACSB Scholarly Academic status.
  3. Candidates must provide university-issued student evaluations for college-level Marketing-related courses taught.
  4. Outstanding ABD candidates with degree in hand by August 2024 may be considered. 

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  2. Demonstrated success (such as teaching awards, peer reviews, mentor recommendations) in teaching excellence as an instructor of record at the undergraduate level in Marketing-related courses.
  3. Recent high-quality scholarly work or potential for high-quality scholarly work in Marketing or another related area, either through doctoral education or publication in peer-reviewed journals.
