The purpose of the Patient Service Support Representative is to elevate the University of Colorado patient experience by supporting the functions of the Patient Services team. This position performs various clerical duties. This includes but is not limited to processing bankruptcies, demographic updates, itemized statements, attorney requests, and returned mail. This role also provides intermittent coverage for reception.
The responsibilities of the Clerical Support Representative will include:
- Preparing forms for Discount Committee processing.
- Processing various clerical support functions that support the Patient Services department to include but not be limited to:
- Returned Mail
- Itemized Statements
- Attorney Requests
- Handling specialized tasks as assigned by the department Manager and/or Supervisor on an as needed basis.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year healthcare experience. Must be technically proficient. Requires intermediate verbal, written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgement are essential. Ability to communicate with empathy and maturity is necessary. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in the healthcare industry and physician medical billing. The candidate must be empathetic, courteous, be able to handle competing priorities, and work well under pressure.
