Job Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will perform tasks with general direction in order to coordinate research protocols, as directed by the Principal Investigator (PI) and the Clinical Research & Community Outreach Coordinator (CRCOC). The CRC will schedule participants, and coordinate the data collection and operations of several concurrent clinical research studies under the guidelines of research protocols, UCSF and regulating agency policies.
The CRC's duties may include, but will not be limited to supporting the management and coordinating the tasks of multiple clinical research studies; act as intermediary between services and departments while overseeing data and specimen management; manage and report on study results; create, clean, update, and manage databases and comprehensive datasets and reports; coordinate staff work schedules; manage Investigator's protocols in the Committee on Human Research online system, as well as renewals and modifications of protocol applications and the implementation of new studies; participate in the review and writing of protocols to ensure institutional review board approval within University compliance; help assure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies; oversee study data integrity; implement and maintain periodic quality control procedures; interface with departments to obtain UCSF approval prior to study initiation; maintain all regulatory documents; report study progress to investigators; participate in any internal and external audits or reviews of study protocols; assist other collaborating studies with translation services (from English into Mandarin/Cantonese) when necessary and possible; and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
This position also involves working off-site some days, supporting the PI and CRCOC to successfully perform outreach in the community in order to diversify study population. Part of these outreach duties include, but will not be limited to assist in the organization of educational and health fairs and events; participate as speaker at conferences, forums and facilitate workshops around brain health/caregiving issues for older adults as well as families, younger adults and possibly teenagers; assist the PI and CRCOC in the creation of educational material accessible to general population. Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
The Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is a clinical research unit within the UCSF Department of Neurology that investigates the clinical (neurological, cognitive, behavioral, neuroanatomic) characteristics of various neurodegenerative diseases. The Primary Investigator's (PI) research within the MAC focuses on the decision-making processes in patients with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Alzheimer's Disease (AD), primary progressive aphasia (PPA), and other neurodegenerative disorders.
