University of California - Los Angeles Health is Hiring an Administrative Assistant II - Calabasas Ophthalmology Near Calabasas, CA

DescriptionAs an Administrative Assistant II at the Stein Eye Center Calabasas, your role will offer vital support to both providers and patients within a dynamic multi-specialty ophthalmology clinic. We seek an enthusiastic and compassionate individual, committed to delivering outstanding patient care while effectively streamlining clinic workflows. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Check-in/out patients* Process co-payments* Respond or route inbox messages* Obtain authorizations and referrals* Schedule appointments* Obtain and verify insurance informationSalary Range: $24.57-34.87 Hourly
QualificationsRequired:* Minimum two years' experience working in a medical office.* Familiarity with current patient billing practices.* Experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system.* Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communication with patients, staff and doctors.* Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records in a clear and orderly manner at the direction of the Office Manager.* Working knowledge of medical terminology and diseases, as it applies to the eye.* Sufficient computer keyboard skills to perform appointment scheduling, encountering, emailing, and other related computer tasks.* Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.* Knowledge of current governmental programs to ensure reimbursement.* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.* Ability to multitask effectively.* Flexibility and adaptability given the dynamic nature of medicine and departmental needs.Preferred:* Two years' experience working in a medical teaching institution.* Two years' experience in ophthalmology practice setting.* One year of experience with an electronic medical record (EMR).
