Position Summary:

The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides services and support to over 50,000 students, faculty, and staff with the mission of advancing UCI's brilliant future and the vision of becoming world-class campus partners. DFA serves the university as planning partners, problem solvers, and solution providers-striving to make it as easy as possible for people to get the services they need, when they need them. The Procurement Services team leads through collaboration and best practices the acquisition of quality goods and services by implementing processes and procedures that deliver high quality expertise, significant value, and excellent customer service.

Uses advanced contract administration skills related to purchase, sales/service, revenue generating, and other types of agreements/contracts to initiate, review, draft, redline, and issue highly complex or customized contracts. Provides consultation, advice on drafting complex contracts and assistance in the interpretation of contract language, which may include consultation with General Counsel, and guidance from University policies, State, and Federal requirements and procedures. Identify contracting areas requiring subject matter expert review and approval, such as Legal, Risk Management, Information Security, and Privacy. Update contracting templates, forms, and policy information on Procurement's website for use by campus depts. Answer questions by faculty and staff related to contracting or other procurement policy and procedures. Analyze vendor supplied terms and conditions for acceptability. Develop training curricula and presentations for campus training programs for purchases and contracting. Process and approve Purchase Orders in the ERP system.

$95,500.00 - $105,500.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $90,500.00 - $169,700.00 (Annual Salary)

Required:

5 or more years of experience in contracting, purchase related contracts, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience

Bachelor's degree with emphasis in legal, contracting, or other related field Juris doctor, paralegal certificate, or other formal legal training preferred/highly desirable.

Advanced knowledge of contracting principles and practices, methods and procedures used in competitive procurement, including value analysis, and source selection techniques. Advanced knowledge and understanding of specific contracting assignments. Advanced written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; advanced ability to deal with broad and diverse constituencies using advanced customer service orientation and skills. Advanced organizational, presentation and negotiation skills. Advanced listening, political acumen skills and problem recognition, avoidance, and resolution skills. Advanced knowledge of the organization, including its infrastructure, goals, mission, rules, policies, guidelines, etc. Advanced knowledge of contract law, the California Public Contract Code and an advanced understanding of University's Business and Finance Bulletins and other relevant rules, guidelines, policies and practices.
