Departmental Overview
Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) is comprised of five (5) Regions which provide services to specic "groupings/clusters" of schools, colleges, and organized research units (4 academic, 1 all other). This regional approach to providing administrative services is intended to improve service quality by re-establishing personal connections and to develop more local expertise.Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, ORUs & SpAce Sciences Lab, UndergRaduate Studies, ChEmistry (SHARE)- is part of Berkeley Regional Services, within the division of the Vice Chancellor for Administration. Our mission at SHARE is simple. We aim to provide the Human Resources, Research Administration, Purchasing & Reimbursement services that departments and ORUs in our region require - in a timely and ecient manner, with minimal hand-os and a culture of collaborative improvement.
We will work hard to establish relationships with you as well as processes and services that will create a productive environment in support of the university's mission of excellence in teaching and research.

Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing client relationships and facilitating effective service delivery to administrative business or academic units on campus. Serves as a business partner and liaison between clients and BRS HR/APS. Ensures the efficient flow of information and coordinates and conducts activities to best serve client needs in a timely manner. Works with Service Delivery Manager and AP/HR Process Improvement teams to implement best practices and deliver continuous improvements in service. This position involves recommending, developing, implementing, administering, coordinating, and/or evaluating Human Resources policies, labor contracts, statutes, programs and procedures covering several of the following: recruitment, compensation, employee relations, labor relations, welfare programs, training and development, visa procurement, intercampus transfers, and employee services.
Counsels department managers and supervisors on employee and labor policies, procedures, and appropriate practices regarding performance management, recruiting, on-boarding, compensation/classification, disability, performance evaluations, training and other areas of HR..
Manages recruitment cycle for a full range of staff or academic positions. This includes position number management and working with central offices to acquire required approvals.
Coordinates HR Paperwork, obtains necessary approvals, tracks and oversees ServiceNow cases, keeps employees and managers informed about the status of HR requests
Ensures that new appointments and changes in appointment are entered and coordinated correctly in relevant systems.
Audits UCPath and/or other systems each term to ensure employee information is accurate and works to address any errors in a timely manner.
Counsels employees concerning sensitive and difficult to resolve work-related problems.
Works with client groups on complex re-organizations and staffing objectives to assist in meeting business objectives.
Represents SHARE HR at meetings, on working groups and committees as assigned.
Professional development activities.
Work with the department on tracking tools to provide key employee information to supervisors, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of human resources concepts, policies and procedures, employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training and other areas of human resources.
Knowledge of disability case management and proven ability to follow through and focus on resolving cases in a timely manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse client groups.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service in high volume, fast-paced, professional environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to apply skills in a consultative way.
Demonstrates skill in prioritizing competing work assignments, and timelines.
Employing political & interpersonal acumen to analyze information to determine appropriate courses of action and their implications
Possesses strong analytical, active listening and critical thinking skills.
Comfortable with utilizing Google Suites to disseminate and communicate new information with client group.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of and/or ability to learn UCPath system and other related business software programs and systems.
Knowledge of academic personnel or administration.
Worked in a and/or ability to learn shared services environment especially in higher education field.
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn campus initiatives relating to and/or impacting human resources and thorough understanding of how work may impact other areas.
Salary & Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience between $85,000-$90,000 annually.
