Departmental Overview
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Development Assistant who will work within the department's development unit.

Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Cal Athletics Fund office (twenty associates). This could include answering the main phone line and CAF email, responding to donor inquiries, maintaining general office supplies, mailings and assisting with database management. Assist the donor engagement team with stewardship and communications. This could include executing donor mailings, printing collateral/proposals, researching current and prospective donors, and assisting with maintenance of donor files. Maintain development ticket holds, parking pass holds, tour key cards and other common use items that help the Cal Athletics Fund team operate. Liaison with the Business Office and assist with the development office budget. Manage the purchasing of administrative supplies and processing of all reimbursements for staff expenses.
Required Qualifications
Experience in a development office or non-profit setting. Must have office experience and a firm understanding of how to be an effective team member within an office structure. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office and common desktop/web applications. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, service orientation, decision-making, time management, ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment, organizational skills and problem resolution skills. Must possess the following office management skills: filing, calendaring/scheduling appointments, answering phones, writing memos and excellent customer service. Possess the ability to perform database research and basic analysis of information. Must maintain current knowledge of and/or ability to learn applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference, the NCAA as well as other associations and agencies to which the Berkeley campus of the University of California adheres. At all times, avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Education:
High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent training/experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a collegiate athletics development office. Knowledge and understanding of and/or ability to learn applicable NCAA and Pac-12 Conference rules and regulations.
Salary & Benefits
This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) non-exempt career position, which is paid bi-weekly and eligible for full UC Benefits. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience within the range of $25.65.00 (Step 1) - $27.46.00 (Step 4).
