The Intelligence Analyst – Domestic Violent Extremism(DVE) supports the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center Anti-Terrorism Division (ATD) by identifying, creating and sharing relevant and actionable intelligence and information, through assessments, bulletins, briefings, and/or investigative support. The analyst’s role will primarily focus on analytic and liaison/outreach activities. The analyst performs a wide range of analytical functions including research, analysis and reporting on criminal and terrorism related vulnerabilities, risks, and threats to the State of Maryland. The analyst provides predictive analysis based on relevant local, regional, national or international intelligence information, trends or activities. This position works in developing, supporting and conducting statewide liaison and outreach activities as they relate specifically to public safety, government, and private sector businesses, agencies or groups. The analyst will provide briefings and reports for multi-disciplined agencies in government, private, and public sector regarding DVE and will collaborate with the same in creating multi-agency reports that are relevant to law enforcement and homeland security producers and customers in Maryland. The analyst will assist all branches in the ATD in supporting the overall homeland security and antiterrorism mission. The analyst will also collaborate with other members of the MCAC regarding hate/bias and hate crimes information gathering, analysis and reporting.

Education: Baccalaureate degree or higher in sociology, psychology, criminal justice, law enforcement, business/public administration or a closely related field required. Master’s degree or higher in intelligence, communications, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, law enforcement, business/public administration or closely related field preferred.
Experience: Four years of criminal, terrorism or critical infrastructure analysis, investigative, law enforcement or emergency services /public health experience required. Five years of experience in conducting outreach, liaison, training, analysis and reporting that supports critical infrastructure and key resources security and protection preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

** Employee may be required to work outside of normal duty hours during significant or special events and during crises or high-level investigations related to terrorism or criminal activities.
