Summary of Job Duties:The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides inpatient and/or outpatient speech language pathology specific services that include diagnostic and clinical assessments, screening, development of treatment plans including goals, treatments, and education to patients/caregivers/staff; communicates with medical multidisciplinary teams, assesses and inputs orders for patient diet texture and liquid viscosity as appropriate, is responsible for documenting and submitting charges for services rendered, and is responsible for documentation of evaluation, treatment, and education per department/insurance/state licensing board/Joint Commission standards.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association), Certificate of Clinical Competence, Arkansas State Licensure or eligible to apply,
BLS certification (must obtain certification within 30 days of starting this role)
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one (1) of Inpatient/acute care adult experience, with video fluoroscopy experience.

Responsibilities:
Participates in multi-disciplinary and department communication, which may include patient care discussion and/or meetings, unit/department clinic/hospital meetings.
Provides education which may include serving as a clinical instructor, serving as a mentor for a clinical observer, providing education to other disciplines within UAMS and/or community.
Documents patient evaluation/treatment/education and submits accurate and timely charges according to regulatory policies.
Provides comprehensive evaluations of patients using appropriate tests/measures based on populations. Formulates a individualized plan of care. This includes an assessment of speech/language skills and vision/hearing screenings appropriate for the age of the client.
