Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate students with language difficulties or delayed development. 

  • Provide speech and language services in accordance with a student’s IEP 

  • Participate as part of the multi-disciplinary team in reviewing qualifications of students with speech and language needs or delayed development. 

  • Prepare lesson plans for students in accordance with their IEPs and in conjunction with the classroom teacher. 

  • Prepare all local, state, and federal reports associated with student case load. 

  • Act as a resource on speech and language issues for the teacher, parents, and administration (particularly in grades K-2)

  • Participate in initial and recurring training for the speech and language professional 

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from Accredited College or University

  • Master’s Degree with CCC (certificate of clinical competency) 

  • State teaching certification in Arkansas for working with students with a speech or language disability, including current certification in the science of reading 

  • Ability to pass a background check
