Position Highlights

The Admissions Evaluator (Admissions Evaluator I) performs a multitude of roles and functions including accurately and efficiently evaluate and verify undergraduate applicants applying for admission to any of UA's campuses or programs. They must follow Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and UA standards for admission criteria and follow departmental job aids and procedures. The Admissions Evaluator works with internal team members and their supervisor to ensure accurate procedures are complete to provide world-class service and help meet UA objectives. AEs are expected to meet 95% accuracy on evaluations and complete other processing tasks such as indexing, TAPs tickets and record consolidation.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluation: the AE exercises discretion with sensitive student data and manages a high volume of applicants. The AE reads applicant materials submitted, selects appropriate ABOR coursework and calculates GPAs for the system to run admissions logic on. AEs collaborate within their team to ensure accuracy and understanding of ABOR, UArizona and departmental procedures and rules.
  • Processing tasks: following departmental procedures, the AE will complete indexing, sorting materials and record consolidation.
  • Admissions "TAPs" tickets: AEs are assigned requests and issues submitted via a "TAPs" ticketing system. The AE will be assigned tickets with designated procedures such as expediting an evaluation or indexing a material to a student's record. AEs are expected to reply with excellent customer service while handling the issue and resolving the matter.
  • Projects: the AE will be assigned lists of records to check through to help find missing materials or to correct steps missed. Each project will be accompanied by instructions from their supervisor or project lead.
  • Email communications, Training/coaching and updating documentation: Once trained, the AE will be expected to understand job aid procedures and ask questions to enhance their knowledge and ensure accuracy. The AE works closely with their supervisor and AE team to review procedures and discuss complex evaluations.

  • Ability to effectively communicate – most specifically communicate policies, practices, goals, plans, decisions, ideas.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and problem solve and make timely and appropriate decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
