University of Alaska - External Careers is Hiring a Data Specialist Near Anchorage, AK

The University of Alaska Anchorage Financial Services Department is seeking a Data Specialist to join our team. The Data Specialist will work collaboratively with Financial Services leadership to support process improvement, data integrity, and departmental learning resources.

This position is located on the Anchorage Campus, within the University of Alaska Anchorage's (UAA) Financial Services unit. Financial Services is comprised of Accounts Payable & Travel, the Office of the Bursar, and Financial Systems. As the Data Specialist you will join a dynamic team of professionals, supporting the financial data and process needs of UAA.

To thrive in this role, you will exercise research, problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. You will have the opportunity to work independently and as an integral member of our team. Effective collaboration across various university departments is essential to this role, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
The successful applicant will have experience in data reporting tools (TOAD/SQL, etc.), dynamic forms, and the use of technology to drive modernization and support leadership decisions. The ability to correctly interpret complex rules and regulations for purpose of data validation is essential to this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and four years progressively responsible experience relevant to the duties of this position is required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Anchorage campus, and requires on site work; however, limited hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
