Reporting directly to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Director of the Technical Assistance Partnership for Academics (TAP A) plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the activities of all personnel within the TAP for Academics to ensure the efficient and successful completion of project deliverables outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and subsequent approved work plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of TAP A Project Associates (comprising of 5 professional staff), while collaborating closely with the Director of TAP for Behavior (TAP B) and the PI to oversee the duties of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure the timely and thorough completion of all deliverables specified in the TAP A work plan, meticulously documenting all activities.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly reports to the State Education Department (SED) outlining completed activities and incurred expenses.
  • Act as a liaison to interdisciplinary Satellite Teams, fostering collaboration and support for regional personnel.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of professional development programs in academics by Project Associates, including the provision of technical assistance and coaching across all tiers of intervention and support.
  • Lead curricular development and program innovations in academic instruction, aligning with national research, regional goals, and local needs.
  • Organize and supervise efforts to enhance the capacity of coaches, school teams, and district leadership teams in implementing multi-tiered systems of support, data-based decision-making, and district/school improvement planning.
  • Serve as a point of contact between regional teams and the TAP.
  • Provide ongoing support to partner districts and schools in the accurate utilization of data platforms.
  • Disseminate project outcomes and lessons learned to Partnership stakeholders through regular communications channels such as reports, newsletters, curriculum materials, technical assistance briefs, and research papers.
  • Actively participate in and present at regional and national conferences and forums.
  • Serve as a liaison with leaders involved in related local, regional, state, and federal projects and organizations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts aimed at the growth and direction of the Partnership.
  • Collaborate with personnel from the Office of Special Education, NYU, and Cornell University to achieve Partnership goals.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Education, Special Education, School Psychology or related field, minimum 3 years of experience working in schools.
  • Experience in supervision of and/or collaboration with trainers and/or technical assistance providers.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale (i.e., district-wide, statewide) technical assistance activities.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and providing professional development and/or technical assistance, especially in the area of positive academic interventions and supports.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on a team on project implementation activities to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience evaluating technical assistance activities (i.e., fidelity and outcomes of training, coaching, and technical assistance).
  • Experience developing and disseminating products (webinars, guides, briefs, professional development curricula) that translate research into practice and/or policy guidance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with a variety of audiences, including the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback to enhance performance.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience/knowledge of the Science of Reading/MTSS-I.
  • Supervisory experience including provision of written and verbal performance feedback.Additional Information:

    Professional Rank and Salary Range: Staff Associate, SL4; $100,000-110,000.

    Special Notes: This position is temporary and eligible for annual renewal based on external funding.
