The Financial Manager is part of a team of Financial Managers within the Acute Care Division who conduct an independent review of assigned facilities to ensure financial statements are completed accurately, on time, and that they comply with Corporate timelines, US & local GAAP guidelines, and SOX requirements. In this role, the Regional Financial Manager will have direct interaction with facility CFOs and Controllers as well as exposure to the overall Acute Care Division, which has annual revenues of $7B . In addition, this position is encouraged to identify improvement opportunities, with the goal of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and quality of financial reporting at UHS.
* Manages monthly closing process to ensure financial statements are completed accurately, on time, and that they comply with corporate timelines, US & local GAAP guidelines, and SOX requirements.
* Assist facility in preparing for financial discussions during regional Monthly Operations Review (MORs), addressing actual operating results versus plan, estimate, and prior year.
* Maintain monthly and quarterly account analysis that substantiate balance sheet accounts.
* Generates ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed by management.
* Identify and manage depreciable assets and associated schedules.
* Ensure regional intercompany accounts are reconciled and settled on a periodic basis.
* Provides onsite and remote assistance to troubled facilities and serves as interim controller as necessary.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
* 3-5 years related experience is required.
* Strong understanding of general accounting concepts, practices, standards, principles, and activities related to one or more corporate accounting functions such as General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, AP, etc. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, numerical facility, and analytical abilities.
* Two or more years in general corporate accounting in a major accounting function such as General Ledger, Budget, Financial Reporting, AP, etc.
* Travel Requirements: Minimal domestic US travel, perhaps up to 5%.
* Experienced with information systems conversions, excellent computer skills on various systems. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large, complex sets of data are a must. Strong communication skills with an ability to create a collaborative work environment with multiple stakeholders across diverse geographic locations are required. Crowe RCA experience is a plus.
