Job Summary (Purpose): 

The Manager – Fleet Financial is expected to lead multiple complex projects in the fleet space, with a heavy emphasis on cost savings and continuous improvement. Projects will require very close collaboration with field employees, various suppliers and internal AmeriGas stakeholders and key decision makers. The Manager will initially focus heavily on recently launched fuel, R&M (repair and maintenance), and other fleet projects to ensure benefits are maximized and sustained. This will include the development of new and improved processes, metrics and KPIs. The Manager will analyze all areas of fleet expense and supporting processes to develop a long-term view of project opportunities that will deliver improvements to our field operations that focus on cost control, operational efficiency and service.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver expected savings on all vehicle maintenance related projects, to include necessary metrics and KPIs for each. 
  • Work closely with our Fleet Management Company partner to ensure the necessary level of project support is provided, and that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are measured and reported as defined in the contract.
  • Evaluate, identify and implement cost and service improvements with fleet related suppliers. 
  • Develop and manage fuel program daily activities and projects, aligned with recently implemented fuel initiatives focused on maximizing the use of discounted merchants, reducing non-fuel spend, and other related projects in support of the company fuel policy.
  • Work closely with the fuel card provider to negotiate discounts, develop analyses to maximize savings and compliance to policy, and ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are satisfied.
  • Develop and champion improvement planning processes 
  • Design and implement a Fleet Dashboard that effectively summarizes the business performance and financial impact of all in-flight projects and the project pipeline. 
  • Develop a comprehensive, long-term plan to effectively manage Diesel Engine Replacement Grant (DERG) opportunities.
  • Provide support on month-end close activities, including SOX controls, fuel reporting, budget vs. actual spend analysis and reconciliation
  • Develop and implement a best in class fleet administrative program that supports our mission to provide superior service to the field organization. 
  • Manage day to day fleet processes with the Fleet Team to resolve issues. May include working directly with the primary external vendors chosen to support those activities. 
  • Participates in the development and administration of the company’s annual fleet budget.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, high-value cost saving projects
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Certified in Lean, Six Sigma or alternate CI methodology is a plus

Education and Experience Required:

  • College Graduate BS in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Engineering or related program. 
  • 7 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting and forecasting.
  • 5 years in a role focused on project management with an emphasis on continuous improvement and business analytics
