The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible for underwriting all business purpose loan requests, especially complex and larger loan requests. In addition, this position is responsible for completing annual loan reviews on all reportable Member Business Loans. **This position is based out of our new business center in Tigard, but the work can be done from home. While this position offers remote work - all Unitus employees must reside in Oregon or Washington state**

Primary duties:

• Underwrites all business purpose loan requests, monitoring credit risk, evaluating and authorizing credit limits, and performing and ensuring timely and thorough monitoring of all credits through periodic reviews and continual analysis.
• Reviews 3rd party reports including, but not limited to, commercial appraisals, environmental reports, business and personal credit reports, flood determination and UCC lien searches.
• Completes annual loan reviews on all reportable Member Business Loans by gathering updated documentation from business owners, collaborating with Commercial Loan Officers to answer questions on the operations of the business, and assigning an appropriate risk rating for the borrowing relationship.
• Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures, business lending rates, and developing trends that may impact the Credit Union’s business lending portfolio.
• Evaluates existing processes and makes recommendations for improvements to increase efficiencies and enhance service levels to business members.
• Provides guidance, on-the-job training, and mentoring to junior business credit analysts.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent in work experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of complex credit analysis experience in commercial lending at a bank, credit union and/or equivalent financial institution. Experience should include a variety of company, industry, and property types.
• Minimum of 6 years of commercial loan underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of businesses in different properties including Commercial Real Estate and C&I.
• Advanced credit and credit quality skills including accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis experience.
• Familiarity with a commercial loan origination system such as Abrigo/Sageworks.
