UNITED WAY OF TARRANT COUNTY is Hiring a Regional Director Near Arlington, TX

The Regional Director directs, coordinates and supervises volunteer-driven community initiatives, processes and activities and integrates them with the mission of the organization in consultation with the Community Investment department. This position collaborates with community leaders to provide a comprehensive approach to solving social issues in the throughout the County, particularly in the Arlington and NE areas, as well as assisting with community planning and capacity building.Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages 1-2 staff members.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate activities of the Arlington office throughout the community
  • Manage the work outlined in City of Arlington Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
  • Accountable for coordination and integration of program development efforts as may be required by Chief Impact Officer and set out in annual work plan
  • Provide primary staffing and develop innovative strategies for implementing and measuring use of United Way funds in the community around a target issue
  • In coordination with Chief Impact Officer, develop and execute any relevant Community Initiatives in support of the strategic plan for the Community Investment Division
  • Accountable for the operations of the Arlington office suite
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Work in close concert with Development staff and ensure all program initiatives are coordinated in advance
  • Additional duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.  
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (No Sponsorship)
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and analytical software
  • Effective communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse community segments, volunteers, groups, individuals, and professionals
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills and energy for working with diverse, concurrent planning activities as evidenced by letters of reference from former supervisors and volunteer leaders
Experience/Educational Requirements:
  • 8 years of experience with progressive responsibilities in a community organization/mobilization and capacity building, interagency, or intergovernmental relations
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Urban Planning, Public Administration or related discipline required and can be substituted for two years of service; Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Texas driver’s license, minimum state auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Work Environment: The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job including traditional office environments and performance of work within client residents. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Although remote work is occasionally permitted for this position, the individual must reside primarily in North Texas with the ability to work from the office, corporate location or other necessary location on a daily basis.Work Hours:
  • Monday-Friday 8-5PM (flexible hours)
  • May require some evenings, weekends for special events
