United Way of North Carolina is Hiring a Resource Coordinator, Affordable Connectivity Program Near Cary, NC

Position Description: POSITION: Resource Coordinator, Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Monday through Friday
COMPENSATION: $38,000 a year with benefits
REPORTS TO: ACP Team Lead
LOCATION: Cary, NC

Position Overview:
United Way of North Carolina (UWNC) is the state association for local United Ways and administers the statewide NC 211 information and referral system to provide access to health and human services programs for North Carolinians. NC 211 will be an access point for the state of North Carolinas Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) with the goal of helping low-income households pay for internet service, access to devices, and digital literacy. The ACP Resource Coordinator will develop relationships with relevant organizations and resources to support the ACP Team in serving their clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resource Management
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of digital literacy programs offered in North Carolina.
Attend program-based trainings to maintain awareness of upcoming program roll-out and changes.
Continuously seek and identify new resources to add to our NC 211 resource database that would be beneficial to current or potential clients of the affordable connectivity program, including resources to assist with ACP applications and internet installation, digital literacy, and cyber-security.
External Outreach and Communications
Engage with Internet Service Providers (ISP) and establish working relationships with key contacts to enable effective communication as issues arise with the ACP program administration, including escalating and resolving issues with ISPs on behalf of the ACP Team.
Serve as a liaison between ACP Team and ACP related resources to further access to needed resources.
In coordination with NCDIT, identify and attend community meetings and outreach opportunities to promote NC 211 as a resource for those seeking to access ACP.
Support the Marketing Specialist with text messaging content for ACP.
Assist with developing training materials and work tools to support the ACP Team in their work.
Reporting
Support the ACP Team Lead and UWNC Leadership in the collection, analysis, and utilization of data from our customer relationship management software.
Support the ACP Team Lead and UWNC Leadership in required contract reporting, meeting preparation, invoicing, and compliance activities for NCDIT and UWNC leadership.
Other
Assist the Director of Programs and ACP Team Lead with the initial design, processes, and workflows of the Affordable Connectivity Program.
Support 24/7 disaster response operations during times of activation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in social work, health and human services, business administration or a related field.
General working knowledge of internet service plans and setting up home internet.
Ability to communicate about technology and internet service in simple terms.
NC 211 is an integral part of the State Emergency Response Team (SERT). This requires all 211 staff to be available during times of emergency, to work beyond normal hours and/or to be flexible in meeting the needs of the event.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in using PC Office software.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience partnering with State Government and/or working with a grant.
Prior experience with helping to launch a new project.
Prior experience with social and/or human service experience.
Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Organized and detail oriented with the ability to operationalize policies and procedures in the work environment.
Shows initiative.
Ability to work well under pressure while performing multiple tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
