Construction Project Manager – Houston, Texas

USSI is expanding the Project Management Department which is instrumental to the success of the company.

A construction project manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of construction projects involving the use of metal building and correlating components. They work closely with clients, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer’s specifications.

Some key responsibilities of a construction project manager include:

• Must possess technical skills to understand and interpret specifications and drawings, construction methods, and contract documents. Responsible for generating requests for information.
• Responsible for project scopes of work, developing and evaluating estimates, preparing quotations, project execution, change orders, cost approval, and project close out.
• Monitors project milestones, change orders, and technical status reports.
• Collaborates with colleagues, customers, vendors, and subcontractors and directs processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and financial objectives.
• Manages client, vendor, and subcontractor relationships and establishes clear communication.
• Responds to escalated project issues and coordinates solutions.
• Reports weekly project updates during company’s production meeting.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, meet multiple deadlines and work with minimal direct supervision.
• Reports to COO.
• Full-time position, in office attendance required.
• Occasional overnight travel required.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Competency in MS Project, Navisworks, and ACAD is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction science and management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related degree preferred though relevant experience is highly considered.
• Pre-engineered metal building experience is a plus.
• 7 years’ relevant experience preferred.
• Salary commensurate with position and experience.
