Sr. Technical Designer

The Senior Technical Designer [KID-PUMA] position is responsible for working with the PUMA Kid’s team in the technical design for girl’s product line. This position will use exceptional design skills, knowledge of the current market and identifying trends to create innovative and commercially viable products from conception to production.

Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):

• Create technical specification packages that include detailed garment construction information, such as sewing details, trims, and measurements
• Measure incoming garments against vendor measurements and maintain accurate measurements and specifications to ensure consistency across all product categories
• Prepare and track samples for fittings and make sure approval dates are met
• Attend & run technical fittings by preparing samples, taking notes, completing fit lists
• Maintain tech log under the direction of the Senior Technical Designer
• Maintain tech packs under the direction of the Senior Women’s/Girls’ Designer
• Generate detailed POM sketch, specs, and tech packs.
• Communication with factories in various methods, i.e. pattern correction, digital photos, technical sketches, technical notes, and garment construction
• Manage style input in web-based PLM
• Collaborate with internal/external teams: daily communication with overseas partners and internal Design, Production & Product Development departments
• Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• College degree in technical design, fashion design or equivalent experience in related area and minimum of 8 years of technical design experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical design experience girls line from newbown to big girl sizes including girl’s swim experience.
• High creativity and artistic abilities, an eye for color, texture and pattern with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions.
• Knowledge of fabric finishes/teatments for different fabric capabilities and functions.
• Knowledge of grade rule and sewing and of patternmaking and draping.
• Ability to lead fittings with design teams.
• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, email and internet.
• Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication and collaboration with design, sales team, and production
• Excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload seamlessly with strong attention to details and follow-up.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company/department.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000

Workplace Type: On-site
