United Caring Services is Hiring a Development Coordinator Near Evansville, IN

JOB DESCRIPTION – Development Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time

STATUS: Non-Exempt

PROGRAM: Development

PAY RANGE: $18 - $21

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Coordinator will support the strategic fundraising efforts for United Caring Services. Responsibilities will be inclusive of event planning and volunteer management. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator will raise mission awareness of UCS and strengthen the existing development/fundraising program by aligning marketing and outreach activities.

Founded in 1991, United Caring Services is a low-barrier shelter and nonprofit working to end homelessness in our community. Together, as a community of caring, we serve over 150 of the most vulnerable individuals of our community, daily.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Works with Executive Director on development/fundraising strategy, methodology, objectives, and engagement

· Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors and prospects including individuals, partner organizations, and corporations

· Manage a portfolio of donors (50 – 75 donors)

· Provides leadership as well as implements all fundraising event and peer-to-peer campaigns

· Utilizes CRM software for donor acknowledgement, cultivation, and reporting

· Works with Executive Director to coordinate the dates, venues, permits, themes, goals, evaluation, etc. of all fundraising appeals, events, grants, and peer-to-peer campaigns

· Works with Director of People and Programs to recruit, train, and engage volunteers

· Lead volunteer management and coordination activities

· Present to community groups to raise awareness of UCS

· Ensures confidentiality of guest, tenant, staff, volunteer, agency, donor, and sponsor information

· Some travel, evening, and weekend hours may be required for this position

· Attends staff meetings and other training as scheduled

· All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills -- written, verbal, and public speaking—and works effectively across diverse communities

· Proficiency in Google suite and Microsoft 365

· Required to sit, stand, crouch, navigate multiple floors, safely maneuver around, and inspect equipment, furniture, and exterior spaces with an ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted (50 lbs. assisted)

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Three years professional experience developing, leading, and managing fundraising and/or other special events, including volunteer management, online fundraising campaigns, creative writing, and professional communication preferred

· Preference is given to qualified applicants with previous experience working in other nonprofit setting

· Current, valid state driver’s license required

· Possession of, or the ability to obtain, CPR, and First Aid certifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
