Heritage Center at Holiday Health Care is Hiring a Staff Development Coordinator Near Evansville, IN

The Heritage Center at Holiday Health Care is recruiting an RN or LPN to be a part-time Staff Development Coordinator.

This position will be responsible for developing and conducting continued education programs to improve employee skills and knowledge. The Staff Development Coordinator will assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, and consultations with administrative staff. The coordinator will also provide education, training, educational guidance and support to all staff at the Heritage Center facility. This position will work in conjunction with our other part-time Staff Development Coordinator and nursing administration to interview and hire CNAs and QMAs for our facility.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed RN or LPN in Indiana with experience working in long term care
  • Prefer 2 years experience in staff education and development and management
  • Must have extensive knowledge of state/federal regulations and best practices in education and training
  • Must be willing to work as licensed floor nurse as needed
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education, and other training to meet all facility and state/federal regulatory requirements
  • Set up and maintain preceptor programs for high school and college students
  • Track, coordinate, and ensure completion of TB’s in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Set up licensed nurses for TB certification and training
  • Determine and assess facility education needs and plan, develop, and implement training to meet needs
  • Include the RAI process in training and orientation to assure optimal utilization of services
  • Assess training outcomes and determine effects, such as improved staff retention
  • Support staff relations to ensure practices and maintain high morale and retention
  • Assist, coach, redirect and document performance as needed and assure that any performance documentation is equitable, uniform, and timely
