Quality Improvement Specialist 

Unison Health is looking for a QI Specialist to join the QI team. This position assists with managing Quality Improvement activities. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and analyzing risks inherent to clinical program operations. This individual will have a role in educating and advising clinical staff on risk mitigation while providing data collection and analysis to assist the QI team in compliance and quality improvement standards.

Education/Experience/Other Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor’s degree in mental health-related field, or business-related field.
  • Requires 3 years of clinical experience, and/or performance improvement and data analysis.
  • Must have ability to lead and evaluate performance improvement outcomes.
  • Preferred experience in accreditation and certification.

Primary Duties:

  • Participates in all accreditations, certification and audit processes as needed.
  • Implements and evaluates quality improvement and risk management strategies.
  • Improvements focus on direct client care, governance, management, and support functions.
  • Collects and analyzes key data, while making recommendations for improvement to their direct supervisor.
  • Provides data driven decision making and quality improvement processes to enhance client outcomes, staff efficiency and productivity.
  • Gathers information from departments and service providers to complete risk management reports.
  • Identifies and evaluates trends associated with quality improvement activities and ensures completion and coordination within expected timelines. (Ex: Clinical outcomes, client grievances, incident reports)
  • Reviews and ensures incident reports are thorough and submitted timely with follow up as appropriate.
  • Assists in monitoring and releasing of medical records, utilization reviews, and clinical documentation as needed.
  • Assists with the review of quality improvement policy and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of value-based programming and processes.
  • Implements and evaluates the agency’s compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Participates as a member or consultant of various committees, teams, meetings, etc., to provide information on quality improvement and risk management.
  • Participates in forums, educational programs, and other position related opportunities to keep abreast of emerging issues affecting department risks, trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.
