Unipec America is seeking highly motivated juniors or seniors to join our team as Summer Internship - Trading. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to commodity trading and work alongside experienced traders and support teams. As a Summer Trading Intern, you will be sitting on the Crude Oil Trade Floor in Houston, Texas, and will be responsible for assisting the traders and support team with both physical products and financial derivatives.

This is a full-time, on-site internship that is expected to start around May or June and continue through the entire summer term or into Fall 2024, if available. The internship will last for 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the candidate's availability. Unipec America offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the commodity trading industry.

What You'll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Available for a minimum of 8 weeks for the internship
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
• Self-starters who are results-oriented, resourceful, innovative, intellectually curious, and who take initiative and risks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Demonstrates a strong ability to embrace and adapt to change, takes initiative, and showcases curiosity
• Learns quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools 
• Previous work experience or internships in related fields is a plus

Requirements

• Assist traders with daily activities such as market analysis, trade execution, and risk management
• Collaborate with support teams to ensure timely and accurate trade settlements
• Conduct research and analysis on market trends and provide insights to the team
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on market developments
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the team
