Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Director to join our team. As the Development Director, you will play a crucial role in leading and implementing our fundraising strategies to support our nonprofit organization's mission. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the growth and sustainability of our organization.

Job Summary

The Development Director will employ an innovative, comprehensive strategy to move stakeholders through phases of engagement that will: build community loyalty, raise/leverage resources, and ensure that donors and community members have a positive experience. This position coordinates aspects of development, including grant writing, strategic initiatives, marketing and communications, and is responsible for improving public understanding of Union-Snyder CAA’s mission and vision and improving community engagement.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Fundraising Program Development & Management

  • Research and pursue appropriate funding opportunities and fundraise in Union-Snyder counties.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to meet revenue goals and additional development objectives including but not limited to leadership giving, sustained giving, year-end appeals, all grants including foundation, corporate, governmental grants, etc., special events, and planned giving.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Oversee management of gift processing and donor acknowledgement, the donor database, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain donor database by accurately recording donor information, interactions, and contributions.
  • Create and implement strategies for individual donor development and cultivation that will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base for Union-Snyder CAA.
  • Ensure that all development initiatives have clearly defined outcomes and impact goals and continually evaluate effectiveness.

2. Grant Writing

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify grant opportunities and develop grant proposals.
  • Prepare recurring and new grant applications, working in concert with program directors and management staff, and ensure that all applications are complete and timely.
  • Oversee grant writing and reporting process, ensuring timely submission of proposals and accurate reporting on grant outcomes.
  • Utilize digital marketing strategies to promote fundraising campaigns and engage with supporters.

3. Marketing & Communications

  • Improve brand recognition among community / donors and implement engaging strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the development of marketing and fundraising collateral.
  • Manage all website design, content, maintenance, and updates.
  • Strategically integrate Development Plan with marketing strategy (branding, website content, publications).
  • Collect information, compile, and distribute The Monthly eNews publication.
  • Write press releases and develop relationships with local media.
  • Manage / oversee all social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and more than 5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, leadership, managerial, and communication skills.
  • High Level Communication – written and oral.
  • Skilled Presenter.
  • Strong Ability to Sell and Market.
  • Fund Raising Expertise.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work independently and use executive level judgment in decision-making, including setting, and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including rapport, poise, and presence with executive leadership and all levels of staff as well as community members.
  • Strong computer skills with high proficiency in utilizing the internet, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) as well as utilizing cloud-based software, services, and applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Knowledge of website management software.
  • Proven experience in relationship management and nonprofit management.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies for fundraising purposes.
  • Proficiency in donor management software.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting for fundraising campaigns.
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact or other email marketing platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and securing funding from foundations and government agencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $52,770.00 per year
