Overview

Position: Program Facilitator

Department: Service Extension - State College

Reporting Relationship: Directly to the Regional Manager

Availability of Position: Immediate

Location: The Salvation Army, 2790 West College Avenue, Suite 10, State College, PA 16801

Schedule: Part Time Plus (20-29 hours per week)

Salary Grade: $13.50-$14.50 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

The Program Facilitator will support the Salvation Army Centre County (State College), PA Service Center. In this role, you will assist / collaborate with the Regional Manager and Caseworker/Program Facilitator to support ongoing annual programs such as camp recruitment, Back-To-School assistance events, and daily / weekly emergency financial assistance programs, coordinating the Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign, entailing sponsorship and volunteer management, engaging with businesses, and overseeing bell ringing logistics. You will foster community connections by partnering with local organizations and businesses to promote The Salvation Army Centre County, PA Service Center. Additionally, you will contribute to various fundraising and community events, assisting with correspondence related to the approved projects under the guidance of the Regional Manager. Your comprehensive efforts will play a pivotal role in amplifying the center's positive impact within the community and providing valuable assistance where needed. Additionally, this position performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School Education with clerical experience required.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Windows, Microsoft Word, and Lotus Notes.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Must possess both strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local organizations, businesses, and individuals is a plus.
  • Must have a drive and a passion for fundraising/donor outreach for The Salvation Army and its programs.
  • Can work independently, as well as within a team.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed. Able to prioritize projects.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must understand and appreciate the Mission of The Salvation Army.
