Union Gospel Mission Association of Spokane is Hiring a Partner Engagement Coordinator Near Spokane, WA

At the Union Gospel Mission we want to partner with people who are passionate about breaking the cycle of homelessness, abuse, and addiction in the Inland Northwest. We currently have a position on our Advancement team as a Partner Engagement Coordinator. Additionally, employees must be willing to lead and/or participate in Bible study, prayer, devotions and sharing the Gospel.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Partner Engagement Coordinator connects with ministry partners, potential businesses, and organizations to increase engagement and raise funds to support UGM’s annual fundraising goals. Through transferring the cause of the ministry, they invite the community into volunteer opportunities, events, and tours to experience the ministry and understand the impact of their partnership.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Result Area #1: Development Department

  • Collaborate and work well as a member of the Development Department, engaging the overall work of Development.
  • Coordinate with the Development Department team members to provide meaningful partner engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Development Department Team members, participating in assigned community events.

Key Result Area #2: Ministry Advancement

  • Follow-up and engage with all potential investor leads - individual, business, and other organizations thru visits, tours, and general stewardship as assigned.
  • Engage with existing ministry partners - look for deeper engagement opportunities to grow and steward the relationship.
  • Engage in effective visit predisposition and strategy efforts with Director of Ministry Advancement to increase effectiveness with portfolio and prospects.
  • Conduct visits with ministry prospects to engage and increase funding resources - demonstrate the ability to communicate and transfer the cause and the increased impact they can have in the lives of UGM guests/residents.
  • Involve other UGM personnel when needed to increase relationship building effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Ministry Advancement Director on tracking activities for the department.
  • Maintain accurate and essential donor information in donor perfect (Virtuous).
  • Follow through on assigned ministry gift receipt delivery.
  • Manage and steward a portfolio of financial partners.

Key Result Area #3: Volunteers

  • Effectively train, manage, and utilize volunteers in the department, allocating adequate time and resources.
  • See that each volunteer has a current job description with duties designed to contribute to the objectives of Ministry Advancement.

Key Result Area #4: UGM Staff Expectations and Activities

  • Submit all UGM credit card receipts and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all HR and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure email correspondence occurs within 24 hours.
  • Identify and achieve SMART Goals.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Committed Christian, able, and willing to model servant-leadership and interested in being part of a ministry for the poor, homeless, drug addicted and mentally ill. Grounded in the Christian faith as a mature, active member of the body of Christ. In accordance with Union Gospel Mission Statement of Purpose, Statement of Vision and Statement of Faith.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills - exercise compassion and discernment while modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ.
  • As a unified team member, will honor the leadership, chain of command, and standards and ministry objectives of Union Gospel Mission.
  • Follows UGM policy regarding addressing and resolving conflict amongst team members, volunteers, & residents.
  • Know and able to communicate and embrace UGM’s cultural Core Values and their indicators. The Core Values are applied and observed.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook); able to complete documents, reports and accurately record information. Willing to continue education as needed or required.
  • Excellent communication skills in written, verbal, and instructional work.
  • Must have a teachable spirit and the ability manage multiple emotional and task related variables, listen, and make sound decisions in alignment with UGM’s purpose.
  • Minimum 3 years of sobriety, if in recovery.
  • Insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable, model appropriate boundaries, and strong work ethic.
  • Valid Washington or Idaho driver’s license– required.
  • Yearly TB clearance – required.
  • Criminal background check clearance – required.

Working Conditions/ Physical Factors:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%

  • Work is primarily indoors and may require climbing three flights of stairs, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - continuously.
  • Requires working with a diverse population, many of whom struggle with homelessness, addiction, and mental illness –
  • Requires the ability to meet with ministry partners at various sites, traveling locally throughout Kootenai County & Spokane.
  • Requires a sustained level of high energy, stamina, and the ability to move about all the facilities on a regular and ongoing basis –

  • Copier/printer, Phone, Fax
  • Projector and audio-visual equipment

Education/ Experience:

  • BA from a four-year college or university– preferred.
  • 2 year’s prior related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Union Gospel Mission is a privately funded 501 (c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry. Our designated purpose is religious, and we are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished. We consider every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and Statement of Purpose. As such, each employee must have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. All employees must:

  • Be able and willing to share the Gospel and participate in all the ministry activities of Union Gospel Mission.
  • Subscribe to Union Gospel Mission Statement of Faith and Statement of Purpose upon hire and continuously while employed.
  • Adhere to Union Gospel Mission Employee Handbook.
