Assistant Store Manager

This position is responsible for assisting with management of the operations and activities of the store and staff; works closely with the Store Manager in making decisions that contribute to the store's success.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages and delegates workload and ensures execution of plans and strategies across the store and in assigned area, in collaboration with the Store Manager. 
• Works closely with the Store Manager to monitor key metrics such as: conversion, average dollar per sale, units per transaction and inventory levels.
• Partners with the Store Manager to establish and communicate all critical metrics and expectations within the store, including but not limited to, visual, operations, safety, loss prevention, human resources, payroll/scheduling and training. 
• Coaches, teaches, trains, and manages all aspects of performance. 
• Develops all store associates, encouraging professional growth and building a bench of talent. 
• Focuses on promoting and driving sales as they pertain to, or are driven by, position. 
• Acts as manager on duty. 
• Ensures all customers are provided gracious, quick and efficient service. 
• Sets expectations and models excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and the company to both internal and external customers in all forms of communication. 
• Communicates regularly with the management team concerning all aspects of sales, customer feedback/traffic and associate training/performance. 
• Participates in weekly store walk-throughs with the management team and follow-up as required. 
• Stays up to date on all store initiatives and communications that are received, sharing with associates when appropriate. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous retail management experience 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
• Open availability (including nights, weekends, and holidays) to meet the needs of the business 
• Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates 
• Commitment to excellence and high standards 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Excellent presentation skills 
• Basic competence in subordinates' duties and tasks 
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
